Sherlock Holmes and the Deadly Necklace (1962)

This movie was watched as part of a RiffTrax commentary.

I audibly “yay” ed when I thought that Mary Jo and Bridget riffed on this one. I sank back down when I realized it’s Bridget and Matthew J Elliot, one of the British riffers who suck tremendous ass. It’s clear he wrote the jokes, as Bridget has to deliver the wordy, convoluted ones slowly.

The movie is cheap in places, but it’s not terrible. The dubbing is meh, and quite jarring when we hear a stranger’s voice coming out of Christopher Lee’s mouth. But I like Lee’s Holmes, which hews closer to the obnoxious, contrarian Holmes of the novels. Overall, more boring than anything.
